The Program Coordinator, Direct Service Programs, has two major functions: 1) Serve as the
Principal Investigator (PI) for the state-funded Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program,

staffing, and grant preparation, management and reporting, and 2) program coordination support for
the Senior Outreach Services (SOS) program, including collaboration with the SOS Coordinator,

reports directly to the SCA Director and collaborates with all SCA staff, Division of Health Sciences

Disability Services Division, Marion G. Thompson Trust Foundation, etc. The incumbent is involved in
planning, development, oversight, and analyzing results for two key SCA community outreach
programs, as well as the overall program coordination of one program. The position makes
independent decisions on daily operations and management of the primary grant(s) by identifying
clients, researching eligibility, slotting participants into the appropriate program, negotiating contracts
with vendors, managing and maintaining budgets, etc. The Program Coordinator consults with the
Director on more complex issues or problems requiring a higher level authority for resolution, i.e.,
client relations issues, vendor services disputes, or scope of work implementation or changes.
Impact:
Continued funding is dependent upon the quality and quantity of efforts. Grant management directly
impacts the Center’s relationship and reputation with grant agencies. The production of timely reports,
accurate analyses and the attainment of grant goals are essential for continued and future funding. In
addition, the efficient management and promotion of programs benefit the welfare of elders and public
through better service and awareness. Evaluation and grant development are essential for the
validation of grants and programs; the publication of positive changes and services provided by the
