Important Dates Checklist
By 19 August: register for xxx498
By 16 September: turn in Research Information Form
N.B.: it does require signatures (plan ahead!)

Catch some excitement for your research by hearing about the research of others!
Look for announcement of the 498 writers’ collaborative meetings.
Schedule a meeting PRIOR to Thursday 3 December with Dr. Pitts
(pittsb@meredith.edu or 760-8814) to sign the thesis
Thursday 3 December: Final, unmarked copy of thesis due
(paper copy and digital copy)
Copies: After signed approval from Dr. Pitts, take thesis to Meredith’s Copycenter for
copying onto 100% rag (cotton) paper. Student pays for paper copies of thesis.
How many are needed? (see below)
Binding: Fill out form for binding, $10 each (Honors copy paid for by library)

You need:
* 1 copy for library (binding cost covered for Honors students only)
* 1 copy for department (ask thesis director if department covers cost)
* x number of personal copies
After Jean Rick at the library has received your thesis to be bound, she will notify Dr
Pitts who will inform the Registrar that you have completed your thesis requirement for
Honors.

What information must be included on the Title Page? Yes there is a specific format! Also note
the different title page and required permission and copyright page for the digital file:




Do you need to use a particular citation form? (determined by discipline)
Do you need a Bibliography or Works Cited page? Yes.
Do you need to present your research in a public forum? Yes.

Workshops from Undergraduate Research
consider signing up if workshops are offered in the Spring
Look for announcement of the 498 writers’ collaborative meetings.
Before Spring Break: submit proposal to Celebrating Student Achievement
Day (Meredith’s annual research conference)
Tuesday 12 April: Celebrating Student Achievement Day: present your
research in a public forum.
Schedule a meeting PRIOR to Thursday 28 April with Dr Pitts
