EPQ Presentation
Aims
By the end of this session, you should have more of an
understanding of;
• What the objectives of your EPQ presentation are
• How to construct good presentation
• How to deliver information in an effective way
Your objectives
• What is your project about?
• What is the reason for you choosing the project you did?
• What were the aims and objectives of your project?
• What research did you do and why?
• How well did you do and what did you achieve through your project
• What did you learn?
• How might this project help you in your future
Think about it
Know your audience
Timing
Resources
Any resources that you use for your presentation
should be relevant and have a point to them. They
should also be easy to read and complement what you are
saying and help you engage with the audience.
If you are using a PowerPoint or Prezi resource you need to ensure
that the contents are formatted in such as way that they are clear to read
but do not have the whole contents of your script on them. Slides or resources
should have some key points that sum up the points you are making.
If you plan on using PowerPoint ensure that you are going to have access to a computer and projector. If you
plan on using a web based presentation system like Prezi or if you plan on using links to websites – ensure you have internet
access – what will you do if this fails? If you are planning on showing a video clip you have presented make sure it works on the system you are going to
use before hand.
If you are using resources you can consider how they can further engage the audience with your presentation e.g. do you want to keep their attention or ask for their own feedback based on
something you have displayed.
It’s not just what you say…
• Non verbal communication
• Body Language
• Eye contact
• Appearance
• Confidence
Know your stuff
• Think ahead
• Practice!
Putting it into practice
You have 10 mins to prepare for a 1 min presentation on your
EPQ and it should tell us:
• What your project is about and why you picked it
• Where you are at with your project so far
• What have you learnt from doing your project so far
You’ll present to your group who will need to ask you questions.
Try and come up with a question to ask the others too
Conclusion
You should now have…
• What the objectives of your EPQ presentation are
• How to construct good presentation
• How to deliver information in an effective way
