Work Experience

Feb 2014 Current Research Assistant at Department of Industrial Engineering ,

University of Chile, Santiago

Stochastic optimization in natural resources. Specifically, inclusion of uncertainty in forestry and energy management.

Jan 2013-Jan 2014 Research Assistant at Department of Mathematics , University of California, Davis, USA

ARPAe project. Design of a methodology to generate scenario trees to represent load uncertainty in the Security Constrained Stochastic Unit Commitment problem.

Jan 2011-Dec 2012 Project: Design and Implementation of the Admission System to

Chilean Universities

Design and implementation of the algorithm to solve the Chilean college admissions problem. Analysis of the impact of high school class rank in the admission process. Implementation of software solutions to perform special admission processes.

Special Projects

Mar 2014 Jul 2015 Development of the software to solve the Chilean college admissions problem

Design and implementation of the software that is going to be used from now on to solve the Chilean college admissions problem. The software considers a GUI and provides multiple options to solve the assignment problem, optimizing the use of vacancies and allowing an improvement of around 5% in the results of the allocation.

Nov 2014 May 2015 Development of the software to solve the special admission system at the University of Chile

Design and implementation of the software that is currently used to allocate special vacancies (for international students, sport scholarships, ethnic vacancies and many others) at the University of Chile.

Sep 2012 - Dec 2012 Development of a software to solve the school meals auction in Chile.

Design and implementation of a software to solve the combinatorial auction to assign the meal contracts to provide meal services at schools for low-income students.
