Georgia Institute of Technology
PhD student in Computer Science
Tsinghua University
B.S. in Computer Science
Graduated: 07/2015
RESEARCH & EXPERIENCE
09/2013 - 07/2015 Tsinghua University, Laboratory of Distributed Systems
Participated in projects including: storage system; automatic bug detection; cloud storage;
optimization of the Spark framework via RDMA.
09/2012 - 07/2015
Tsinghua University, Department of Computer Science and Technology
09/2011 - 07/2012
Tsinghua University, Department of Mathematics
PROJECTS
09/2014 - 10/2014
Optimization of Apache Spark
Took part in a programming competition with two PhD students, experimenting with Spark to
determine its network bottleneck and transplant RDMA for better performance under InfiniBand
network. Resulted in 30% improved performance.
07/2014 - 08/2014
Design and Simulation of Intelligence Robot
Worked with team in competitive environment to simulate intelligent aquatic robot fish. Team
created three different robot strategies for three separate platforms and was awarded 2 first
and 1 second-place prize. Project length: 5000 lines of in C#.
12/2013 - 06/2014
Systematic Data Placement in Multi-Cloud Storage for Complex Requirement
Optimization
Worked in team to build a systematic model for formulating data placement in erasure code–
based multi-cloud storage systems. The system (Triones), addresses the problem of data
placement optimization by applying non-linear programming and geometric space abstraction.
Primary contribution: defining and demonstrating algorithm for the mathematical model of the
system
11/2013 - 12/2013
Online Card Game Platform
Worked in team to create a platform for online card games, automatically creating games with
user-defined rules. Helped build server, implement Web interface for clients and
administrators, build network connecting server and client, and create crucial explanation
system for user-defined game rules with automatic machine. Languages we used include:
GoLang, HTML, and MySQL. Total length: approximately 20,000 lines of code.
Implementation of 16-bit CPU
Worked in team to create a CPU and run it on our teaching experiment machine. Designed
data path; wrote VHDL code and debugged machine.
10/2013 - 11/2013
03/2013 - 06/2013
Design and Implementation of Continuous Speech Recognition System Based on WFST
Worked in team to create real-time speech recognition system based on WFST. Collected
corpus; calculated a language model of n-gram; used existing voice model to create a system
capable of recognizing the voice of speaker and displaying that data in real time. N-gram
model required writing 2000 line of Python code
