Chris Winter
Partner, New Venture Partners
Chris is a partner at New Venture Partners (NVP), a $300m US venture capital firm that
spins technology companies out of corporate R&D labs. He is also a partner in Brighstar
Innovations, which helps corporations run their innovation processes. He has been involved
in 35 start-up companies, on the board of six and worked with more than 20 large US,
European and Australian companies over the last 12 years.
Previously Chris was CTO of Brightstar, British Telecom’s incubator. Prior to which he was
VP of engineering at a software start-up and Head of Futures Research at BT. Chris lectures
at leading business schools on Corporate Venturing, Open Innovation and IP management.
He is a visiting professor at Reading and Brunel Universities, has a PhD in Physics from
Lancaster University and BA in Biochemistry from Oxford
