Procedures/Steps:
This strategy can be used to help students be more engaged while
developing a wonderful study technique.
1. Draw a vertical line down about two inches from the left side of the
paper
2. Log main ideas and key words to the left of the line
3. Add details to the right of the line
4. At the bottom write a brief summary of the lesson
Comments and/or tips:
 Have a sample done using this strategy for a visual
 Introduce the strategy clearly
 Have students work in pairs or small groups to collect their thoughts
and ideas about the lesson
