HILOSOPHY graduate study at Brandeis can lead to employment opportunities in a variety of
career sectors that might include: teaching (in higher, secondary, or elementary education),
consulting, counseling, law, advocacy, and ministry. Students are prepared to problem solve
through the analyzation of concepts, definitions, and arguments. Several of the skill sets gleaned
from a graduate education in philosophy are marketable to employers, such as conducting research,
summarizing complicated materials in understandable terms, communicating well both orally and in
writing, solving complex problems, persuading people to see a certain point of view, as well as analyzing and
integrating diverse types of information.
