Magnets produce a force at a distance and as such we
consider the space around the magnet to have a “magnetic
field of force.”

We can visualize a magnetic field by spreading iron
filings (a ferromagnetic material) in the area around a
magnet.
The earth itself has its own magnetic field. The interesting
thing is that our magnetic north pole is really a south pole.
