TAKE A MOMENT TO HONOR UH POLICE OFFICERS
Houston, May 13, 2013 – Every day, UH police officers work to protect the community and enforce the law.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15 as Peace
Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.
As President Obama said in 2012, “ We owe a profound debt to all those who have worn the badge, and to the families whose care enables them to serve with courage and pride.
”
The UH community is asked to take a couple of minutes to honor all of the UH police officers who patrol the campus, as well as all law enforcement personnel across the nation.
