Upper Canada Model United Nations Conference Competition

On Saturday, October 20th, 2012, eleven students from Gonzaga’s United Nations Club competed at the
third annual Upper Canada Model United Nations conference. This event took place at Upper Canada
College against 21 other schools around the GTA. Lead by Ms. Mendonca , Ms. MacLellan and Ms.
Quesnelle, each member of the United Nations Club participated in numerous events . The
committees included ; UN Security Council, G20 summit, UN human rights council, organization of
Islamic cooperation, Dalian League joint crises committee (Northwest Rebellion), and the Metis
exovedate and Government. In addition, due to countless hours of hard work and dedication Gonzaga’s
UN club didn’t leave the event empty handed. UN member Sean Callaghan won for outstanding
delegate representing Belgium, as a part of the human rights commission. Waiting in anticipation,
Gonzaga‘s United Nations Club is gearing for their next competition on Febuarury 7-9 2013, at the
University of Toronto.
