1. Maintain one inch margins.
2. Do not underline or use quotation marks around your own title.
3. Follow MLA heading guidelines:

Mr. Gillespie
AP English Literature

4. Capitalize the first letter of each important word in the title:
ex. Method in his Madness: Sanity, Duplicity, and Schemes in Hamlet
5. Double space.
6. Number page in upper right corner, putting last name before page number; do
not use p. or any punctuation. Ex. Smith 2
All Subsequent Pages
1. Maintain one inch margins.
2. Number all pages in upper right corner, putting last name before page
numbers.
3. Double space.
4. Indent paragraph five spaces.
Works Cited
1. Maintain one inch margins.
2. Double space between entries and within entries.
3. Begin each entry flush with left margin.
4. Indent second and all subsequent lines of each entry five spaces.
5. Alphabetize entries by author’s last name. (By title, if no author.)
6. Number page in upper right hand margin.
7. Center title one inch from top of page.
8. Include primary source within the alphabetical order of entries.
9. End each entry with a period.
10. Maintain correct order within the entry (MLA rules).
*Remember:
You must have at least FIVE critics cited in the paper, plus the primary source;
thus you will have at least SIX entries on the Works Cited Page.
Your paper should be 8-10 pages in length.
You must document any idea not your own.
