The race is on! Join the Food Bank of
Eastern Michigan College Town
Food Drive. The drive is a competition between Mott Community College, Baker College, UofM-Flint and
Kettering University to raise the
most food and food dollars. The
food drive starts 10/27/10 and ends
12/18/10. Last year MCC made a
great showing at second place with
21,554 pounds of food. Let’s bring
that trophy home to Mott!
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan
serves 400 agencies in 22 counties.
They have multiple programs that
assist all ages in reaching their nutrition needs. 71% of those served
are earning less than $15,000 a year.
78% are children under 18 years of
age.
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan
has served over 200,000 unduplicated people in 2007, with this number on the rise each year. The Food
Bank uses your donations for many
programs and maximizes your dollar contributions by turning your $1
into $14! Your $25 into $350
and your $100 into $1,140!
98% of your donations go directly to the programs!
So how can you get involved?
Donate your non-perishable
food items into one of the
boxes located around campus.
Or call us, we’ll pick up your
donation at your convenience.
Monetary donations can be
placed in a locked box at the
Public Safety main office at
Presidential Court and Gorman Drive or give us a call at
(810) 762-0222!
Donate your non-perishable
food and food dollars this season—the season of giving.

Quick Tip
Place your car keys beside your
bed at night.
If you hear a suspicious noise
in or outside of your home,
press the panic button on your
key fob.
Your car’s alarm just may be
the deterrent needed to send a
criminal on their way.
For safety is not a gadget
but a state of mind.
