Committee Update:
• By law meeting to take place in the next
couple of weeks.
• Volunteer time to be flexible when request Motion to
made to count and organize ticket sales and approve
money counting in the school. Must have
an administrator in school if after 3 pm.

• Volunteers at School Council events will be
offered complimentary drink, pizza and
popcorn etc. according to event.
• Movie nights will continue as long there is
interest from students and parents.
Fundraising Activities:
• Spiritwear: existing supplier is on the Board
list of contenders and thus approved.
The cost of the screen is only charged once for
all items. Will confirm if hoodies will be
available in blue and maroon. The target is to
have them available for sale in the New Year.
Advertising and promotion to begin in
December/January newsletter.

Principal’s report
Community Events:
• Advent Mass December 1st. Juice and
coffee to be provided. Letter requesting
donation of baked goods and volunteers for
the evening will be sent home.
• Community survey to go out in January
Catholicity:
• School liturgies: Remembrance Day, Advent
Mass December 1st and December 20th
• Christmas Concert Dec. 22 concerts at 9:30
am and 1 pm. This year’s concert will be
based on Christmas theme
• The new Roman Missal Mass responses and
Virtues education have been imbedded within
the morning announcements
• Grade 8’s have participated in a trip to Mount
Alverno. The students participated in faith
based activities. They shared how their faith is
active within their lives. These young adults
are a source of great pride.
• Toonie Tuesday for Eden Food Bank: Total
raised pending
• Operation Christmas Child: 90 shoeboxes
are ready to be sent overseas.
• Vow of Silence on November 30th… in
support of those who have no voice to fight
injustice
Program:
• Due to lack of participation the grade 8 trip to
Ottawa has been cancelled, an alternative day
trip will be planned.
• Professional Learning Communities of
teachers: actively involved in gaining further
knowledge and implementing the 3 Part Math
lesson and meeting the needs of all learners
• A further focus is on the School Effectiveness
Framework… Learning Focus and Success
Criteria
• Volleyball: Intermediate Boys, 3rd place in the
Board
Safe Schools:
• The One Movement bullying presentation
was well received by both parents and students.
Student leaders have been challenging students
to make One Movement to stop bullying.
• Roots of Empathy in Mr. Biffis’ class
• Relational Aggression Program with grade 7
and 8 girls.
• Be Cool, grade 4’s are almost complete,
beginning with grade 5 classes and some
training has been done in grade 1
• Review of active supervision policy
• Balls not allowed outside when the field is
closed
New Items:
Charlie Brown Christmas Play to be held by
intermediate. Performance to be held in the day
and possibly during one evening performance
during the week of December 12th.

• Book Sale after all Masses starting this
week
• Silent Auction and Bake Sale December 5th

• CCSC training for Chair and Secretary
proved very helpful. It was an excellent
opportunity to share ideas with other
Catholic School Council executive.
• Discussed various ideas for use of the ProGrant. Will follow up with other ideas that
promote community events
Wellness Wednesday. Students earn points for
participation. Clarification for the school
community on how the points program works will
be provided in the December newsletter.
