From the Office of
Principal Ms. M. Battaglini
Hello parents & guardians. 
It has been quite some time since I have had a chance to send an email your way. I hope you are all
doing well and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The beginning of the leaves turning those
beautiful colours is a clear message that winter is fast approaching.
It was wonderful meeting many of you at our Parent Teacher Interviews last Thursday. The school was
abuzz with many of you who had dropped in to meet your child’s teachers and to receive an update on
their learning skills. I encourage you to maintain those lines of communication open with the teachers,
guidance counsellors and vice-principals. Their success is largely dependent on their hard work and
commitment to their studies but parent-school involvement is also key.
Please read on to see what to look out for the next couple of weeks.
PHOTO RETAKE DAY – Tuesday October 20th
If you son/daughter did not have their picture taken on September 14th, today is the day to have that

HALLOWEEN EVENT – Friday October 30th
St. Michael CSS Arts Advantage Program Presents…
A Halloween Event: SCREAM For a Cause
The Arts Advantage students are excited to invite the Bolton community to this year’s
HAUNTED HOUSE. The event will be held in the school’s lecture hall. The project is a
collaborative initiative focused on raising money for charity. This year we have decided to
commit the funds collected to Operation Christmas Child. This charitable organization sends
shoeboxes filled with items such as clothes, toys, school supplies, toiletries, etc. to children
around the world who do not have the fortune of having such luxuries. SCREAM for a Cause
will enable us to purchase these items and make a deserving child’s Christmas dreams come
true.
The passion and talent of the Arts students will be showcased in the design, creation and
presentation of this horror filled event. Two years ago patrons deemed the haunted house as
“terrifying”, and we hope this year’s creation is equally as bone-chilling. Parents, please be
advised that it may be too scary for very young children. SCREAM For a Cause will be open to
the St. Michael’s students Friday October 30th, during the school day. The event is open to the
public that evening. Please join us in supporting this Halloween initiative:
Friday October 30th, 2015
6:30 – 8:30pm
9130 Columbia Way
(St. Michael CSS – Lecture Hall)
COST: $2.00 per person
In addition students will be encouraged to dress up on Friday October 30th for Halloween.
All students will be required to make a donation to dress down for the day with the
proceeds going to Sharelife. Students in costume will be asked to make a $1.00 donation and
students who choose to dress down (not in costume) will be asked to make a $2.00
donation. Students are also free to wear their uniform if they choose to.
Happy Halloween!
