Representing Canada!
Christabel Odoru, a grade 12 student at St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School has been selected as a
member of the under 20 Girls National Soccer Team. Christabel first started playing soccer when she
was 7 years old. Since that time, she has been honing her skills, even playing for the Provincial team,
but to play for Team Canada is a first. The National Team is on their way to Guatemala where they will
compete in a Qualification tournament for the World Cup in the Germany this summer. As Christabel
was getting ready to leave for training and the Qualifying tournament, she said that it hadn’t really hit
her yet. “I figure it will all sink in once I get my Team Canada jersey.” The entire St. Thomas Aquinas
community is wishing Christabel and Team Canada all the best in Guatemala.
