Your challenge:
Create 2 Bas Relief tiles 3
 Base your design on the architecture of a famous
building.
 1 tile must be low relief only. Simplify your
design into
positive and negative only. (Tile pictured top left)
 The other tile must have at least 3 levels of
carving, showing depth of space. (Jar pictured
below left)

Your design can be abstract, as it is only inspired
by a particular building.


Remember:

You must sketch first, and have that design
approved.

Transfer your design to a 6x6 square of paper.
Mark the areas you are going to carve by shading
them in.

Using a pen transfer the image to your clay slab.

Make sure that clay is leather hard before
beginning to carve.

