6/3/2015: Students are made to feel welcome and included by celebrating and honouring the diversity of the
Cardinal Leger community. Black History Month presentations; First Nations, Metis, Inuit Week celebrations;
"Swap your Stripes" and Multicultural Night are a few ways that staff and students honour and respect the
uniqueness of each individual.
6/3/2015: Cardinal Leger S.S. continues to provide opportunities for students and staff to celebrate their faith and
actualize the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations. This is achieved through events and celebrations such
as: Sunrise Blessing, Sunset Blessing, Youth Summit, "Put yer pinkies up" campaign, Terry Fox Day, CPR Day,
Remembrance Day ceremony, and Catholic Education Week celebrations. Students live out the OCSGE through
community service and actions of faith such as feeding the needy at The Knights Table; preparing food for
organizations in the community who service the needs of the community; helping Canadian Food for Children
organize and pack items for developing nations; and responding to local and world tragedies with various acts of
compassion.

mental health issues we held workshops, keynote speakers, one-on-one sessions with our school support workers,
a community fair with 13 community agencies, providing many opportunities for students, staff and community
partners to discuss the importance of mental wellness. School psychologist delivered a workshop to parents on
"Building Resiliency in Youth".
6/3/2015: We continue to foster faith development in our students through mass and liturgies celebrated together
at St, Mary’s Parish, and here at school. Morning Prayer and reflection takes place in the chapel at 8:00 a.m. daily.
We celebrate the Eucharist together as a Cardinal Leger community every Wednesday morning at 7:45 a.m. in our
school chapel. Mass is celebrated with our parish priests from St. Mary's Parish. We pray as a school community
every morning together. Weekly, classes are celebrating mass with the St. Mary's Parish community by attending
the 9:00 a.m. mass on Thursdays at St. Mary's Church.
