Attorney General
Goal:
Improve SGA governing documents, advise the President on the legality of legislation and actions, and facilitate impartial elections
Responsibilities:
• Be an expert on SGA constitution, bylaws, and election code
• Propose changes to the SGA constitution, bylaws, and election code with approval of President
• Assist members of the legislative branch in writing legislation
• Advise the President on the legality and impact of legislation passed by SGA Senate
• Appoint the Chief Election Commissioner
• Receive complaints during election season, investigate allegations, and determine sanctions
• Represent the organization or its members in SGA litigation as requested by President
Requirements:
• Attend bi-weekly SGA Senate meetings & provide update on activities
• Attend weekly Presidential Cabinet meetings
• Attend University and local events as assigned by the President
• Serve on University and SGA committees as assigned by the President
• Support work of other Presidential Cabinet members and SGA Senate as assigned by the President
• Any other duties assigned by the President
• Remain in good disciplinary standing
