Environmental Issue- EPA Involvement
Purpose
The purpose of this activity is to research an environmental issue involving the EPA.
Objective
Conduct research on an environmental issue involving the EPA, and present your findings.
Procedure
1. Select a topic regarding an environmental issue involving the EPA. A controversial topic might be most
interesting. Examples include acid rain, drinking water quality, and toxic waste cleanup.
2. As you conduct your research, identify how humans and the environment are at risk. Determine the
extent of the threat.
3. Outline the actions taken to protect human health and the environment. If possible, uncover the cost
of the protective actions.
4. Identify entities that might be opposed to actions taken by the EPA. Determine why they might
oppose the actions.
5. Prepare and submit a written document on your findings OR you can choose to create a Powerpoint
or some other type of media.
