NEW REVENUE CATEGORY – REVENUE SHARING/MEDICAID
MONTHLY
The Department of Revenue is authorized by Section 409.915, Florida Statutes (F.S.), to collect
from each county an annual contribution for the state share of the matching funds required for
the Medicaid program. If a county fails to timely remit the payment, the Department of Revenue
is authorized to reduce the monthly revenue sharing distribution to that county pursuant to
Section 218.26, F.S., and transfer the amount reduced to the General Revenue Fund. The
following revenue category has been established in FLAIR to record the current year amount
transferred to the General Revenue Fund from the Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This category is
effective beginning fiscal year 2013-14 and should only be used by the Department of Revenue.
