Environmental Factors
Most Environments consist of living (biotic) and noon-living (abiotic) components.
Environmental components can also be classified as organic (relating to living or once living things) or
inorganic (components that are not living, never were living, nor produced by living things).
In this exercise, you and a partner will be making a list of these factors found outside of the
school where two different environments are found in close proximity to one another: grassy field and
forest edge.
You are to fill out the page below and continue on the back if needed. Even though you cannot
collect every specimen, those you cannot identify should be described in detail and discussed in class for
proper identification. Be aware and observant of your entire environment as many factors are not easily
seen but necessary for the entire community.
