JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the administrative support operations and records for Information
Technology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.
Supervises the administrative support operations for Information Technology.
Provides personnel management direction and guidance including orientation,
performance appraisal, coaching, and personal/professional development of
administrative non-technical support staff assigned to Information Technology, as
well as staff assigned to the Help Desk and Records Management. Responsible
for maintaining personnel related data on all other staff assigned to Information
Technology.

Oversees the operations of the Records Management area.

3.
Serves as liaison between departments and relevant external agencies; explains
and interprets departmental programs, policies and procedures; assists in
compiling operational information/statistics and recommending departmental and
District-wide policies/procedures; and submits required reports.

4.
Responsible for effective and efficient use of resources and related functions and
services within the department. Monitors, maintains, reconciles, and recommends
expenditures of approved budget. Conducts budget research as needed.
Responsible for all open purchase and service orders.

5.
Coordinates special projects relating to information technology, e.g. bid process.
Conducts institutional research as it relates to the District’s Information
Technology status/needs and prepares reports, as needed, of findings.

6.
Coordinates and facilitate work order and departmental requests. Responsible for
tracking district-wide work orders, telecommunications utility billing cycle, and
micrographics requests.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years

Equipment Used: Personal computer and a variety of equipment associated with a general
office environment.

Software Used: A variety of word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials.
Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of
standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are
important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior;
and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as
noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
