JOB SUMMARY: Provide support to the District’s safety program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.
Establish recordkeeping methods that monitor the Hazardous Communication
Program to include updating and maintaining chemical records and MSDS.
Assist in integrating the Globally Harmonizing System into the College.
2.
Assist in presenting employee safety training programs to include the
assembling and distributing of educational/training materials.

3.
Provide clerical services, including composing letters and memos, electronic
communication, answer/respond to calls, and attend/schedule meetings.
Exchange information with internal and external departments or agencies to
explain policies, procedures, rules, and regulations governing departmental
functions.

4.
Research information and produce rather detailed reports, forms and
statements.

5.
Assist in conducting safety and health walkthrough inspections.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) Years
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.
Skills/Abilities: Good communication and computer skills, effective phone etiquette skills
and skills and ability to follow instructions.
2.
Equipment Used: Personal Computer, fax, telephone, copier, and other equipment associated
with an office environment.
3.
Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation
software.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle
or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and reach with
hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch,
or crawl and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move
up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving
mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals;
outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is
usually moderate.
