Independent Contractors Credentials Check
It shall be the policy of the North Penn School District that all professional credentials and
certifications for any contractor or company seeking to do business with the District will be verified
by the appropriate School District personnel for accuracy. In the event of a discrepancy or alleged
impropriety, said discrepancy or alleged impropriety shall be brought to the attention of the Board of
School Directors in executive session prior to entering into any agreement with the contractor.
The Board is required by law to ensure that independent contractors and their employees who will
have contact with students submit three documents:
1. The Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check (Act 34)
2. The Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)
3. The Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
The contractor, subcontractor, or vendor shall produce three required clearances for all of their
employees prior to employment in any school building or on school grounds in accordance with the
Public School Code of 1949, as amended.
