NPSD Educational Foundation
Board Report
November 19, 2015
The Foundation is very excited for the alumni flag football game next week on
Thanksgiving. It’s North Penn vs. Lansdale at Crawford Stadium and it’s going to be a
great day for the community. There are 120 alumni football players, 40 alumni
cheerleaders and 50 alumni band members who are participating. Some have come from
as far as Alabama to play! Tickets at the gate for those who want to watch are only $5.
And the Foundation will be holding a 50/50 so don’t forget to bring some extra cash.
The following week, on December 1st the Foundation is holding Knight Out at The
Uncorked Artist. The sold-out event promises to be a great night for raising money and
friendships with those who attend. Thank you to the generous businesses who have
donated their services and goods for the event.
As for now, I have no news to report on the Hall & Oates concert we hoped to support in
North Penn, but know that if that does not happen another culminating event for NPSD’s
50th anniversary will be planned.
In early December the Foundation will review 35 mid-year grant applications. We have
budgeted $15,000 and have some great project to consider. I want to thank all of those
who took time to submit ideas for innovative classroom projects. I can’t wait to dive into
the applications over Thanksgiving.
I also want to thank Dr. Dietrich for following through on some promises he made last
spring. During the foundation’s annual online auction two items were won by bidders that
involve his participation. This Monday, Dr. Dietrich will spend lunch with a Gwyn-Nor
sixth grader and her friends and will also teach reading to an ESL class at Penndale. I
know it’s going to be a great day for him as he loves spending time with our students and
in our schools. Again, thank you Curt, for your ongoing support of the Foundation.
And finally, if you will be doing any online shopping this holiday season I want to
encourage you all to support the foundation through the Amazon Smiles Program. When
enrolled in this program, new and current Amazon shoppers can choose the Foundation to
earn .05 percent of every purchase they make. All you have to do is go to
smile.amazon.com and choose the NPSD Educational Foundation. It’s simple, free and
supports our students.
If you have any questions about the Foundation, you can contact Christine Liberaski at
the ESC.
