NOTE: Students must present written documentation of completion of the following components of Firefighter I: Safety, Fire Behavior, Water Supply, PPC, SCBA, Communications, Ladders, Ventilation, and Hose and Appliances. Documentation should be from a certified instructor attesting that the student has met knowledge components and had hands on training. Full turnout gear is required. Thursday Session (6 hours) The Fire Chaplaincy – The role of the Chaplain is NFA Preparation for initial Company Operations – This “serving those who serve”. This workshop will explore the responsibilities of the fire chaplain as they support fire rescue personnel. This course is open to current chaplains, as well as those considering involvement as a chaplain in the future. This would also be the perfect opportunity for a department exploring the chaplaincy to find out what it is all about. Saturday & Sunday Session (16 hours) course is designed for senior firefighters, company officers, or acting company officers responsible for the management of a single fire company at an emergency incident. These officers are responsible for company readiness, personnel safety and leadership. The course is designed to develop a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a company officer in preparing for incident operations.
