For lab exam 2 you should know how to do the following:
1. Construct a circuit on a breadboard that has two power supplies and/or a function generator.
2. Use a voltmeter to measure voltages across circuit elements as well as node voltages.
3. Determine the frequency and amplitude of an arbitrary sinusoid on the oscilloscope.
4. Measure the time constant of an RC or RL circuit using only oscilloscope measurements.
5. Use LTSpice to simulate a circuit which may have R, L, or C circuit elements as well as power
supplies, function generators, and op amps.

Lab Practical 2 Practice
Fall 2013
1. Given a resistor and a capacitor use the oscilloscope and function generator to estimate the
time constant τ.
2. Display the step response of the following circuit on the oscilloscope.
3. Simulate the circuit in problem 2 when the input is a square wave at 1KHz with a 50% duty
cycle. Display 5 cycles of Vout .
4. Given an oscilloscope displaying a sinusoid, measure the frequency and amplitude.
5. Construct the following circuit and measure the voltages at the four nodes A, B, C, and D
using the oscilloscope.
