OVEPSHOT CTACKER
T}e overshot stacker plans on the following pages are based on
a stack'r which ias built and is in use in Grant County
Oregon.
As
shown in the mien most of the wood structural members are poles, which
are available in many sections of Oregon.
Where poles are not avail-
able regular commercial timbers of coulvalent sizes can be used.
The use of old
rheels fror a mower or wheels of similar size
from some other machine makes it much easier to transport the stacker
from place to place than if skids alone are used.
The use of two single blocks on the stacker base and one on
the swing boom gives a mechanical advantage of three to one in favor
of the tower, thus reducing the amount of pull necessary to lift the
load.
Essential specificetions arid dimensions are given in the plans
on the following pages.
Lr:i,e scale blueprints, size 17" x 22:,, are
available at the Agricultural Engineering Department, Oregon State
College, Corvallis, Oregon, for 65
a set.
