Intercultural Relationships Interview/Film Analysis Assignment: The
goal of this assignment is to encourage you to explore the unique
challenges and rewards of intercultural relationships. After
interviewing people involved in an intercultural relationship or
viewing a film about an intercultural relationship, you will write a 2-3
page essay answering the following questions:
1) What cultures/religions are represented in their relationship?
2) How did they meet?
3) How long have they been in the relationship?
4) What attracted them to each other?
5) What role did culture/religion play in their attraction to each
other, if any?
6) What are the strengths of their relationship?
7) What are the challenges of their relationship?
8) Do they see the strengths and challenges as different from those
in same-culture relationships?
9) How have friends and family displayed their support or lack of
support for the relationship?
