RSA has implemented many new features into these
lines that address functionality, diversity, and ease
of maintenance, putting Quiet Ceiling and Accurus
ahead of the recessed lighting pack once again.
New lamps, new trim styles, new housing features.
New CMH lamps
Quiet Ceiling and Accurus trims are now available
with the latest in miniature ceramic metal halide lamp
technology. New adjustable and non-adjustable
downlights can accommodate the Philips® Mini
MasterColor, GE® SuperMini, and Sylvania
Powerball lamps. The trims include aluminum
reflectors in a variety of finishes and beam spreads.
New fixtures also accommodate PAR20 and PAR20MH
lamps as well as MR16, CMHMR16, and AR70.
More options than ever
Quiet Ceiling and Accurus have always offered a wide
selection of high-performance trim styles. We have
expanded the offering to include new reflector and
baffled downlights as well as new adjustable fixtures
that accommodate all of the new and existing lamp
sources available with these lines. Our popular MR16
hot aiming trims are also available in slot, pinhole
and square adjustable versions.

QUIET CEILING
FEATURES
GOT NAIL hanger bars include pre-installed nails
that easily install in regular lumber, engineered
lumber, and laminated beams. Safety and
guidance system prevents snagging, ensures
smooth straight nail penetration and allows bar
hangers to be easily removed if necessary.
The patented Quiet Ceiling mud
ring allows for quick and easy
adjustment to accommodate 1/2”,
5/8”, 3/4” and 1” ceiling thickness.
The ring is semi-perforated which
allows the mudding compound
to adhere to its surface. Mudding
compound is applied right up to the
opening. Available in both round
and square.
The housing is constructed of
18 gauge cold rolled steel and
finished in durable powder coat.
Mud ring and plaster frame are
white while all internal parts are
flat black.

Heavy duty butterfly brackets are
standard equipment. Brackets
are height adjustable and can
accommodate a variety of
mounting methods including
black iron and emt.
The internal locking rotation ring
safe guards the original position
of the trim, even after relamping.
The “puzzle piece” design
ensures that the trim will only fit
one way into the opening.
Perforated flaps on some
housings allow for secure drywall
installation around the housing.
This helps to ensure a tight, even
fit around the ceiling cut-out.

QUIET CEILING
FEATURES
The new construction, remodel and special ceiling housings include a new
feature that allows toolless entry from the top side of the housing. This
addresses the need for easy access in maintenance situations. Simply
loosen the thumbscrew and the lid swings open on a hinge.
Trimless Installation
Because no part of the Quiet Ceiling fixture
is exposed below the ceiling, a smooth,
uninterrupted surface can now be achieved in
lighting applications. Quiet Ceiling maintains
the architectural integrity of the ceiling.
With Quiet Ceiling Trimless recessed
fixtures, the ceiling’s mudding compound
is applied right to the fixture, providing
an almost non-existent seam between
the ceiling and the fixture.

New construction, AirTight I.C. (insulated
ceiling) and remodel housings are available.
A special housing for installation in nondrywall type ceilings, such as wood or
marble, is also available.
Standard MR16 trims include slot aperture,
pinhole, downlight and truncated cone
with internal reflectors, adjustable square
downlights, showerlights and wall wash units.
Mini Quiet Ceiling (pages 28 - 33) offers many
of the features of Quiet Ceiling in a smaller
3.5” form factor. The Minis are available in
round or square shapes in downlight, wall
wash, adjustable, and showerlight trims.
New trim models include fixed reflector and
baffle downlights and adjustable fixtures to
accommodate many new lamps including:

Hot Aiming
Because you can only rotate a square
trim in 90º increments, RSA includes
an internal rotation mechanism in the
square adjustable trims. This allows the
lamp mechanism to rotate independently
of the trim to illuminate corners. A
locking feature is included to retain the
original position after relamping.
RSA’s Quiet Ceiling technology is patented.

Certain Quiet Ceiling trims incorporate RSA’s
Hot Aiming precision rack-and-pinion lamp
adjustment mechanism for unparalleled
versatility. Lamps may be aimed with the
use of an ordinary phillips screwdriver while
the power is on. This enables the designer
to “dial-in” the lamp beam for perfect
illumination every time.

ACCURUS
FEATURES
GOT NAIL hanger bars include pre-installed nails
that easily install in regular lumber, engineered
lumber, and laminated beams. Safety and
guidance system prevents snagging, ensures
smooth straight nail penetration and allows bar
hangers to be easily removed if necessary.
Heavy duty butterfly brackets are
standard equipment. Brackets
are height adjustable and can
accommodate a variety of
mounting methods including
black iron and emt.
The Accurus housing allows for
quick and easy adjustment to
accommodate variable ceiling
thickness up to 1.13”*. The housing
collar has an adjustable sleeve
with a slight lip at the opening that
cradles the ceiling cut-out.

The housing is constructed of
18 gauge cold rolled steel and
finished in durable powder coat.

ACCURUS
FEATURES
The new construction and special ceiling housings include a new feature
that allows toolless entry from the top side of the housing. This addresses
the need for easy access in maintenance situations. Simply loosen the
thumbscrew and the lid swings open on a hinge.
Standard Trim Installation
Accurus is like the Ferrari of standard recessed
trims. Each trim is designed and manufactured to
the highest quality standards. The big difference
between RSA’s Quiet Ceiling and Accurus is that
Accurus employs a standard 5” trim face with a
thin 0.04” faceplate material as opposed to the
trimless fixtures in Quiet Ceiling.
Accurus uses a more standard approach to
ceiling installation with the use of a traditional
trim with a flanged edge while maintaining all
of the exceptional features of Quiet Ceiling
(except trimless installation) .

The Accurus line includes housings for new
construction, AirTight I.C. (insulated ceiling) and
remodel.
Standard MR16 trims for Accurus include slot
aperture, pinhole, downlight and truncated
cone with internal reflectors, adjustable square
downlights, showerlights and wall wash units.
Mini Accurus (pages 54 - 59) offers many
of the features of Accurus in a smaller 3.9”
form factor. The Minis are available in round
or square shapes in downlight, wall wash,
adjustable, and showerlight trims.
New trim models include fixed reflector and
baffle downlights and adjustable fixtures to
accommodate many new lamps including:

• GE® SuperMini (T4 GU6.5)
• Sylvania Powerball (T4 GU6.5)

Because you can only rotate a square
trim in 90º increments, RSA includes
an internal rotation mechanism in the
square adjustable trims. This allows the
lamp mechanism to rotate independently
of the trim to illuminate corners. A
locking feature is included to retain the
original position after relamping.

Hot Aiming
Certain Accurus trims incorporate RSA’s
Hot Aiming precision rack-and-pinion lamp
adjustment mechanism for unparalleled
versatility. Lamps may be aimed with the
use of an ordinary phillips screwdriver while
the power is on. This enables the designer
to “dial-in” the lamp beam for perfect
illumination every time.
