Mass Notification Systems
for Airports
Airports are the backbone of domestic and international business travel and are vital to a country’s
tourism industry. Millions of people work and visit airports daily and can be exposed to all types
of threats: weather-related, terrorist activity, take off crash incidents, or blackouts.
One of the key components to the security, public safety, and protection of an airport’s critical
infrastructure is a layered Mass Notification System. Cooper Notification’s Mass Notification
System (MNS) is the most reliable system available – designed especially to serve your airports’
needs today and well into the future.
From one simple-to-use interface, Cooper Notification’s MNS allows you to deliver live or recorded
event-specific instructions within seconds to voice-based sirens, indoor and outdoor speakers
as well as cell phones and desktop computers. Existing security systems, such as fire alarm,
intrusion detection, and sensors can integrate with Cooper Notification’s MNS for improved system
management and situation awareness. This easy-to-use and interoperable system allows users to
focus on the emergency at hand without being slowed down trying to activate multiple systems.
Regardless of the size or layout of your airport, Cooper Notification’s MNS is customizable to
meet your needs. You can build your notification system one layer at a time, starting with an
emergency text messaging system, outdoor “Giant Voice” speaker system, or a comprehensive
mass notification system solution. With this modular and scalable system, you have the ability
to add and integrate the different systems as funds become available or as your needs and
requirements change.
Cooper Notification’s comprehensive solution is designed to protect, alert, and inform people
within seconds of what to do before, during and after an event.
Protect. Alert. Inform.
The right message, to the right people at the right time
Cooper Notification’s Mass Notification Solutions for Airports
An effective emergency communications system can include some or all of the following MNS systems, depending on your
needs and requirements.
Emergency Text and Voice Alerting System
The patented Roam Secure Alert Network (RSAN), which can be quickly implemented, is a web-based communications
system that allows you to send messages simultaneously to multiple media, including SMS text messaging, voice calls, and
email notification.
Desktop Notification System
Cooper Desktop Notification allows you to send realtime messages to computer desktops across enterprise
network environments. This intrusive alert takes
precedence over all other open windows and programs
and can activate sound upon delivery.
Indoor Mass Notification Systems
SAFEPATH® provides supervised emergency voice
communications with paging, background music and
voice messaging. SAFEPATH can integrated with your
existing fire alarm control panel and be installed in nonpublic areas that might not be covered by the Public
Address system.
Outdoor Warning Systems
WAVES® (Wireless Audio Visual Emergency System)
intrusive High Power Speaker Arrays (HPSAs) broadcast
intelligible voice messages tones and sirens, covering
large areas with crisp warnings. HPSAs can be placed in
outdoor public areas or near your tarmac and integrated
with intrusion detection systems.
Interoperable Communications
Through the Roam Secure Information Exchange
(RSIX), you can link your airport’s RSAN text and voice
messaging system to other RSAN systems, including
local government and other airports. It provides a secure
channel for emergency information sharing. RSIX also
connects you to local information sources (traffic, news,
weather service monitoring systems) to fully automate
alerting, reducing the time and effort to send alerts.
