Questions for Proposal Review Discussion
1. Has the writer clearly defined the topic? Does the topic seem too broad or too
narrow for an 8-10 pg. essay? What suggestions would you make for narrowing
or broadening the topic?
2. Has the writer shown how this piece could be interesting for a wider audience (or a
narrower audience)?
3. Does the writer acknowledge controversy around the issue? What different
arguments or angles of approach can you imagine in an essay like this? (Remember:
the writing challenge in the piece is to present a comparative analysis of different
points of view.)
4. Does the writer have a plan for community research? What community research
or other bibliographic source suggestions do you have?
5. What other suggestions or comments do you have for the writer?
