Looking to raise awareness of the Honors College.
Currently at approximately 1,500 students, offering opportunities for students that excel
To obtain more of a focus in general studies, pursue University Honors
Departmental Honors requires 12 hours of Honors credit. Requires a senior thesis.
Highest Honors need a 3.7 or higher. As well as a study abroad experience and 2 years of foreign
language courses.
Benefits: Early registration-some of the first to register. Scholarships for study abroad. Walk-in advising.
Requirements: 3.5 GPA. 25 on the ACT. Letter of recommendation and a personal essay.

Motion to amend Article 2 Section 1 of Social Policy
Amendment: “after an individual is removed via disaffiliated form, they are no longer active, or
affiliated, unless that person has become an alumni of that organization and is in good standing with
that organization and the university”
New Business
Motion to amend Article 2 Section 1 of Social Policy
Currently States: “A party is any gathering in which more than 20 attendees present are not affiliated
with the host organization(s) and alcohol is present.”
Resolution
Whereas, The Interfraternity Council at Eastern Michigan University values the standard of high
academic achievement
Whereas, the new member process is vital to the overall experience of a member of the IFC
community
Resolved, that the Interfraternity Council at Eastern Michigan University believes that the new
member class should be above or equal to the all-freshman average each respective academic
year.
“A party is any gathering in which more than 20 attendees present are not affiliated with the host
organization(s) and alcohol is present. An alumni, of the host organization however will be considered
affiliated. An affiliated alumni, will be defined as an individual who has been removed via roster removal
form. That person has become an alumni of their organization, and they have either graduated or is a
current student of Eastern Michigan University. The alumni will however count as an unaffiliated person
at the events of organizations that they are not an alumni there of. The affiliated alumni will be required
to still follow social policy for Eastern Michigan University and hold the same standards as the active
members.”
