Conway/Briabend
Storm Drainage Improvement Project
Dear Resident:
October 2011
Construction continues for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services’
Conway/Briabend Storm Drainage Improvement Project.
On Thursday, October 6, South Boulevard was closed at the Briabend Drive
intersection to re-align the sewer crossing and install a new storm drainage
culvert across South Boulevard. The road was re-opened at 12:00 am
the following Monday, six hours ahead of schedule. We appreciate your
patience during the successful installation of this culvert. Remaining work
includes storm drainage system replacement in the right-of-way adjacent
to the southbound lanes of South Boulevard. Southbound lane closures,
from 9 am to 4 pm, will be necessary to complete this work.
Excavation continues on the Firwood Lane detention basin. Installation of
the Conway Avenue storm drainage culvert and Blackthorne Lane storm
drainage system will begin this winter.
