PUBLIC MEETINGS AND PUBLIC HEARING
LYNX BLUE LINE EXTENSION LIGHT RAIL PROJECT
DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Charlotte Area Transit
System (CATS) have prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement
(Draft EIS) for the proposed LYNX Blue Line Extension (BLE), an 11-mile
extension of the existing light rail line to serve the Northeast Corridor from
Center City to I-485 at N Tryon Street. The Draft EIS describes the potential
transportation and environmental impacts associated with the project
alternatives.
La Administración Federal de Tránsito (FTA, Federal Transit Administration) y
el Sistema de Tránsito del Área de Charlotte (CATS, Charlotte Area Transit
System) han preparado una declaración preliminar de impacto ambiental (EIS
preliminar) para la extensión de la línea LYNX Blue (BLE) propuesta, una
extensión de 11 millas de la línea de ferrocarril ligero existente para atender
el corredor noreste desde Center City hasta la I-485 en N. Tryon Street. La EIS
preliminar describe los potenciales impactos ambientales y de transporte
asociados con las alternativas de proyecto.

Creek Branch, and University City Regional Branch; Cabarrus County Public
Library – Concord Branch and Harrisburg Branch; CPCC Library – Central

CATS INVITES YOU TO COMMENT ON THE DRAFT EIS:
Comments may be submitted by any of the following methods. Written
comments must be postmarked, faxed or e-mailed by October 12, 2010.
In-Person: Citizens wishing to make formal comments on the Draft EIS
during the official public hearing may call 704-432-0872 to sign up to speak.
Citizens may sign up to speak until 3:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing.
Written comments will also be accepted at the public meetings.
