Clinical Interests
Xiaosong He holds a doctorate in molecular biology. He has extensive experience in developing
recombinant vaccines based on different vector systems and evaluating immune responses after
vaccination. His recent research, which has focused on human T cell immunity against viral
pathogens (in particular, hepatitis C virus), is important for the design of preventive and
therapeutic vaccines for viruses that cause persistent infections. He also has considerable
experience training, advising and supervising medical students and graduates on research projects
and thesis work. As a researcher, he does not see patients.
