Deborah Howard Morrison

Briefly tell about your family history:
My name is Deborah Morrison. I was born
in Merced, CA in 1955. I was the older of
two children born to Elizabeth & Jack
Howard. I graduated from Fresno High
School in 1973. In May, 1977 I graduated
from California State University, Fresno,
with my BS degree in Nursing. In June, I married Jeff Morrison, then in
July I started my nursing career at Saint Agnes Medical Center. I am still
working there 31 years later! It has been an
interesting career, as I have progressed from
working on medical surgical floor, telemetry,
intermediate care, then critical care units. My
current specialty is in Neuroscience nursing.
I have three children, who have all obtained
their Bachelor’s degrees. The oldest, Brian, is
in the insurance business. He and his wife
Kelly are expecting their first baby in October,
so I am looking forward to becoming a
grandmother! My middle child, Derek, is in the
Business/Advertising field, and my youngest,
Kristal is investigating career opportunities after
recently graduating with a degree in Criminology.
I enjoy being a nurse, and felt CSUF gave me a good foundation for a
successful career. There is always something new to learn in the medical
field, which makes it interesting and challenging.
