JOB SUMMARY:
Provides electronic test support for semiconductor wafer engineering laboratory. Performs
assignments which are generally standardized under the immediate and direct supervision of a
senior technician or engineer.

______ Operates and maintains standard test instruments and equipment of moderate
complexity including wafer and packaged device test equipment such as
automatic, semi-automatic, and manual wafer probe stations, probe cards,
electronic and mechanical interfaces from prober to test instruments, parametric
and functional testers and auxiliary test instruments and equipment.

______ Performs maintenance activities under the immediate and direct supervision of a
senior technician or engineer. Follows prescribed work methods or explicit
instructions. May troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and make simple repairs.

______ Assists with general maintenance of wafer laboratories.

______ Produces and distributes standard wafer laboratory test reports using commandline-driven report generators and electronic mail.

______ Stays informed of new developments and technologies.

“report to duty” in accordance with the university’s Emergency Operations Plan

plans. Familiarity with those plans and regular training to implement those

will be notified to assist in the emergency response efforts, and mobilize other
staff members if needed.

Minimum Field of Expertise:
Working knowledge of standard electronic test equipment and computer user interfaces.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
Basic electronic and mechanical assembly skills including soldering and wire-wrapping.
General knowledge of simple analog and digital circuits (amplifiers, switches, buffers,
oscillators, gates, latches, flip-flops, optoisolators). Basic skills in file manipulations and
text file editing on at least one widely used computer operating system. Knowledge of
standard semiconductor test laboratory practices required.

Preferred Field of Expertise:
Familiarity with laboratory applications of personal computer hardware and software.
Competence in basic file manipulations, text file editing, and command line utilities of at
least two widely used computer operating systems. Experience in semiconductor electronic
test or related field.
