Rotary Peace Fellowship
Purpose
To promote peace/conflict resolution by supporting related research and study for
future leaders. To foster the diffusion of knowledge about peace/conflict issues.
Award
Tenable
At one of six Rotary Centers for International Studies. While curriculum is unique
to each school, all focus on peace studies, international relations, conflict resolution
or related disciplines. Five options for Masters and one for Professional
Development Certificate (PDC):
International Christian University – Japan
University of Bradford – United Kingdom
Uppsala University – Sweden
University of Queensland –Australia
Duke / UNC Chapel Hill –United States
Chulalongkorn University – Thailand (PDC)
Number & Amount
Ten awards allotted to each Rotary Center for graduate study. Fully funds tuition
and living expenses. 25 awards per session for PDC (two sessions per year).
Practical internship/field study experience are also funded.
Duration
15 to 24 months. Scholars expected to earn degree in that time. Start date will vary
between schools. PDC is three months, including 2-3 weeks of field study.
Eligibility
Who
Citizens of any country where Rotary operates. Any major that fits relevant career
goals. Language skills for host country AND proficiency in any second language.
Three years of relevant work experience (paid or unpaid). Five years for PDC.
When
Whenever you will be able to present a completed undergraduate degree and three
years of credible service/work experience related to your aspirations.

Selection Criteria
Strong leadership skills. Record of relevant service/experience. Career goals
connect to peace/conflict resolution. There are club and district interviews. Must
have a second language, even if attending an English-speaking destination.
Campus Deadline
None.
Deadline
Set by local Rotary clubs/districts. Club timetables vary but most of the process
generally happens in the spring semester. Clubs nominate to districts. Districts
nominate to Rotary International (who then selects the winners).
Application
Application form. Written statement. Resume. Transcripts. Language proficiency
form. Three references (with form). Essays translated into second language if
applicable. Club/district forms. Test scores if applicable.
