Harvest Intern

At The Ranch, we have one mission: to balance state-of-the-art facilities with personal attention and winemaking experience in order to help our clients make the best possible wines. And we're investing in making that mission a reality. Be part of our Harvest team! Interns for the 2015 Harvest season will work at minimum from August 1 to October 30.

Successful candidates will rotate through four different positions throughout the harvest, allowing a varied experience for the interns. Duties will include:

• Lab: Brix & Temps, Sampling, Sugar Shack analysis, Data Entry

• Cellarwork: Pumpovers & Additions crew

Cellarwork: Red Press crew & Crusher crew

• Winemaking: Monitor tank temperatures, Tank top inspections & Pumpover sheet/Addition work orders

Qualifications and Experience required:

Degree in or currently enrolled in Enology, Viticulture, or related scientific field. Demonstrated commitment to the wine industry.

• Previous winery experience is desired, but not required.

• Ability to work as a dynamic and contributing team member in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills; can communicate effectively in English.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skill; ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Must be computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Must have a good driving record, dependable transportation, and be 21 years or older

Must work over-time as required.

Ability to build great relationships with team members.

• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
