BUSINESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP CENTER:
The Chancellor's Office of the California Community Colleges recently issued RFAs for many of the
Economic and Workforce Development (EWD) initiatives. CEED has responded to the RFA to continue
operations of the South Bay Business & Entrepreneurship Center (BEC), which was originally awarded in
2010. The BEC, in partnership with our Small Business Development Center (SBDC), fosters instruction in
business and entrepreneurship in the colleges of the greater Bay Area, and develops entrepreneurial pathways
to small business owners served by collaborating agencies. If awarded, this grant will be in the amount of
$300,000, to begin on July 8, 2013 and end on June 30, 2014, with the possibility of annual renewal for four
subsequent years.
