GridPoint and EnergyHub Partner to Offer More Choice in Home Energy
Management
GridPoint to Support EnergyHub’s Award-winning Dashboard
TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GridPoint, Inc., an established leader in smart energy solutions, and
EnergyHub, a leading home energy solutions provider, today announced at DistribuTECH that GridPoint’s
home energy management solution will support EnergyHub’s Dashboard, which was chosen by Time
Magazine as a Best Invention of 2009 for its ability to “rein in the real power hogs” in a user’s home. The
partnership will offer utilities and consumers more choice and flexibility to access best-in-breed smart
devices.
GridPoint’s home energy management solution, a comprehensive offering that provides the foundation for
an interactive, ongoing relationship between utilities and consumers, allows for the rapid, easy integration
of third-party devices – including smart thermostats, in-home displays, energy dashboards and smart
plugs – into utility smart grid and energy efficiency programs. This solution provides utilities with greater
device control for optimal load management capabilities, while at the same time increasing customer
satisfaction and interoperability between and among technology utilized within the smart grid. The result
is a meaningful energy management solution that encourages repeated consumer use.
“Both of our companies are working to strengthen the relationship between utilities and their customers,
and this partnership furthers that goal,” said David Wechsler, Vice President, Business Development,
EnergyHub. “We look forward to working with GridPoint to provide consumers the ability to easily reduce
their household energy consumption and costs.”
EnergyHub’s Dashboard combines, in a single interface, the functionality of a home energy display and a
communicating thermostat. The intuitive touchscreen interface allows users to monitor and control all
electrical devices and appliances in the home and provides an “at a glance” overview of the home’s
electrical and natural gas usage, both historical and in real time.
“GridPoint’s solution enables the utility to continue to own its customer relationship, engage that customer
through their chosen device, and increase their participation in utility programs through that device,” said
Michael T. Donohue, Utility Division, GridPoint. “EnergyHub’s Dashboard is an innovative device that we
are delighted to present as an option to utilities and consumers.”
GridPoint’s open, flexible server technology offers enterprise-grade security and reliability, scaling to
millions of endpoints and hundreds of millions of transactions with ease. GridPoint’s common, automatic
provisioning and management system reduces operations costs while enabling the adoption of emerging
communications standards.
