EXPERIENCE
The Full-time MBA (FTMBA) Program at American University’s Kogod School of
Business is rich with experiential learning opportunities. All students participate in
a global consulting project that culminates in an intensive client site visit, preparing
them for the competitive world of business consulting. The program’s signature
courses ensure that MBA graduates are prepared to excel as business leaders in all
industries, both domestic and international.
Graduates offer a fresh and innovative perspective to organizations in the public,
private, and nonprofit sectors. Kogod alumni are found at the World Bank, Deloitte,
Raytheon, and many other organizations around the globe. MBA graduates possess
the expertise and agility to operate in diverse organizations with ease.
American University’s home in Washington, D.C. presents a wide range of internship
and employment opportunities while providing students with access to policymakers,
Fortune 500 companies, and international organizations.
curriculum
The FTMBA is designed to enable students to complete the majority of the core
curriculum in the first two semesters, allowing them to explore electives during their
second year. Kogod is proud to offer a specialized consulting track, or students may
focus on entrepreneurship, management, finance, marketing, IT, accounting, or
international business. Kogod also offers dual-degree options with the Washington
College of Law (JD/MBA and LLM/MBA) and AU’s School of International Service (MA/
MBA). The core curriculum is built around courses in the following areas of expertise:
