PURPOSE
ACCREDITATION & CME CREDIT
The first annual Tennessee Trauma Symposium
seeks to bring the Tennesee orthopaedic community
together to update surgeons across the state on
the latest operative techniques and treatments of
commonly seen orthopaedic trauma injuries.
Vanderbilt School of Medicine is accredited by
the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education to provide continuing medical education
for physicians.
EDUCATIONAL NEED
Orthopaedic trauma surgery is a rapidly advancing
field with constant changes in the management of
complex injuries. This course will utilize both a
lecture and case based format to communicate the
most recent peer reviewed literature and current
management of commonly seen orthopaedic
trauma injuries.
OBJECTIVES
After participating in this CME activity, participants
should be able to describe and discuss:
1)Newer and emerging evidence-based
approaches to managing orthopaedic
trauma
2)Newer and emerging evidencebased approaches to managing open
fractures
3) Indications for following an operative
or non-operative approach
4)Methods of non-operative treatment
including bracing, casting, and timing
of treatment Vanderbilt School of Medicine designates this
live activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA
Category 1 Credit(s) . Physicians should claim only
the credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.
