Academic Information:
Term Dates: 1st Semester, August- December, 2nd Semester, January- May
Exchange Application Deadline: For admission in SEM 1
15th April
For admission in SEM 2

Expected Arrival Date (recommended): first week of August for Semester 1, second week
of January for Semester 2
Admission Requirements: Exchange students from SEP partner universities must:
1. be proficient in the English language in order to benefit from their studies at NUS, as
the medium of instruction in NUS in English (except for Asian or European studies,
where a good command of the respective Asian or European language is a
prerequisite)
2. be academically qualified for the undergraduate/graduate course-work &/ or graduate
research they wish to pursue at NUS
3. fulfill any requirements under the SEP MOU.

Credit Transfer:
It is up to the exchange students to check with their partner Universities as to the modules
that could be mapped back to modules taken at their home universities.
One module in NUS is worth 4 credits and has a total of 39 contact hours.

Course load – 39 hours for undergraduate (fulltime)

Approximate living costs:
Housing: S$400 - S$1,000 per month (depending on room type)
Living Expense: S$400 - S$600 per month
Materials: S$300 per month
