Objective: To design an extruder to produce feedstock for RepRap 3D printer
from polymer waste
 Worked as part of a team using open source technology focused on improving
in-home 3D printing technology
 Designed automated temperature control system using an Arduino micro-controller
 Updated profiles of the recycle-bot of several sites dedicated to open source
technology to further collaboration with the open source community
Project: Recycle-bot Waste Plastic Extruder
Objective: To produce feedstock for the RepRap 3D printer with desirable
characteristics made from recycled polymers
 Investigated current polymer processing methods and compositions to identify
hypothesis and expected results
 Engineered polymers with specific properties by modifying processing and
composition
 Tested created polymers using the Reprap 3D printer and other materials testing
methods to determine properties and performance
