CareerFEST starts the first day of classes and officially ends with the Career Fair Members of Career Services will be on-hand to help students learn about the services available for them through Career Services. Company representatives from the Automotive Industry and their suppliers will be on-campus to showcase their products. This networking event is designed to help students meet company representatives informally in a tailgate setting. All students are welcome to attend. Michigan Tech may not be known as an Aerospace University, but many of our alumni work in this sector and many of our faculty are helping perform research. Many of our students assume that Building Construction is “only for Civil Engineers”. This day is designed to showcase what students with other degrees can do in the process of the design and construction of buildings. Practical job search tips and techniques for students graduating Factory automation continues to improve the productivity of factories around the world. This day is focused on helping students understand the technology involved in creating robots and applying them in factory settings. Practical job search tips and advice for students seeking co-ops and Internships This day is designed to feature all aspects of energy production and distribution from mineral resource extraction through processing and energy generation and finally distribution to customers. Students learn best practices for their job search in an informal, drop-in setting designed to provide the assistance they want. Company representatives, faculty, and staff volunteer their time to help provide practice interviews for students. These 1-hour practice sessions help students understand the interview process and prepare for the real thing! Company representatives, faculty, and staff volunteer their time to help review resumes and provide feedback to students. These 10-15 minute meetings help students strengthen their professional profiles. Representatives from companies that produce Steel and Steel Products help showcase different career options within this industry. PCA members volunteer their time to provide personal advice to students about their career path and choices. This golf scramble is designed to let students meet many different company representatives while enjoying a day on the links. The entire campus is filled with companies, equipment, and the smell of food in this day of informal networking the day before the Career Fair. Modeled after the Civil & Environmental Reception; this mixer is designed for Corporate Partners and gives a chance for companies to meet students informally the afternoon before the Career Fair Held just before the Career Fair opens, this presentation is designed to help recruiters understand how to read body language cues to help them make students comfortable during the Career Fair. The biggest event of the year features students, recruiters, and lots of discussions about career opportunities. The largest day of extended career conversations between students and companies with individual interviews happening throughout the day and across campus. Every company that recruits on campus could employ or SBE students. This forum is designed to highlight our students and provide them opportunities that sometimes get lost in the Career Fair. Network with company representatives in the Hoopzone while watching the Huskies take on Northern Michigan University. This Career Fair is specifically designed for companies that want to hire students earning advanced degrees. There are some great opportunities for students working for the U.S. Government in both civilian and military functions. This day is designed to highlight the paths for these different career options.
