EXECUTIVE ORDER
providing for the establishment of local and interjurisdictional
disaster agencies and services.
I, Dolph Briscoe, pursuant to the authority vested in me under
the! Constitution and laws of the State of Texas and particularly by
Section 8 (c) and (f) of the Texas Disaster Act of 1973, (Acts, 1973,
63z'd Legislature), because of the disaster vulnerability of all areas
of this State, do hereby designate the Mayor of each incorporated
municipality as the Municipal Disaster Coordinator/Director for his
juz'isdiction and the County Judge as the County Disaster Coordinator/
Director for the area of the county outside the corporate limits of the
municipalities in the county.
A municipality or municipalities and the county may establish
and maintain a single disaster agency by joint resolution.
The name of the person designated to head the disaster agency will
be provided by the jurisdiction to the State Division of Disaster
Emergency Services.
All existing agreements, organizations, plans, operations,
directives, city ordinances, commissioners' court orders, and joint
resolutions not in conflict herewith are continued in full force and
effect.
