Applications are invited from citizens of India in the prescribed Application Form
for the following Group ‘C’ posts in Indian Bureau of Mines under Special Recruitment Drive for
Persons with Disability (PWDs). This advertisement also includes posts not reserved for PWDs:1. Two posts of Junior Technical Assistant (Chemistry), (UR-01, OBC-01). Out of the two
posts, one post is reserved for Persons With Disability/PH persons viz. Hearing Handicapped (HH)
category. The posts are also suitable for Persons With Disability viz. Orthopedically Handicapped
(OA,OL,BL) and HH. Pay Scale: - Rs. 5,200-20,200/- (PB-1) + Rs.2800/- (Grade Pay). General
Central Service, Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. Age:- Between 20 and 30 years.
Essential Qualifications:- Master’s Degree in Chemistry (preferably with specialization in
analytical inorganic or physical Chemistry) or equivalent OR Bachelor’s Degree in Science with
Chemistry as one of the subjects with two year’s experience in analysis of ores and minerals.
Duties:- Carrying out analysis of rocks and minerals and research on their upgrading. Any other
duties as may be assigned from time to time by Officers authorized in this behalf.
2. One post of Electrician, (UR-01). The post is reserved for Persons With Disability/PH Persons
viz. Hearing Handicapped (HH) category. Pay Scale: - Rs. 5,200-20,200/- (PB-1) + Rs.1900/(Grade Pay). General Central Service, Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. Age:- Between
18 and 27 years. Essential Qualifications:-1. Should have passed the Matriculation Examination
or its equivalent. 2. Should be a holder of Wireman Electric License issued by the Competent
Board or equivalent qualification. 3. Should have at least two years’ practical experience as
Electrician in a large automobile or Engineering workshop or electric supply company having
electric motors run on 3 phase supply. Desirable Qualifications:- Possession of ‘B’ and ‘C’
certificate of the National Cadet Corps training. Duties:- Electrical maintenance of motors,
switches, generators etc. and Pilot Plant equipment. Any other duties as may be assigned from time
to time by Officers assigned in this behalf.
Abbreviations: UR: Unreserved, OBC: Other Backward Classes, PH: Physically Handicapped,
HH: Hearing Impaired, OA: One Arm, OL: One Leg, BL: Both Legs, PWDs: Persons With
Disability.
Age relaxation will be given as per the Rules of Central Govt. The last date for submission of
applications will be 30th day from the date of publication of this advertisement in Employment
News. Application form, instructions to the candidates and additional information are available
on the website www.ibm.gov.in under the link “Downloads – Administrative”. Interested
candidates may visit the said website and download the prescribed Application Form and other
details.

INSTRUCTIONS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES
General Instructions:1.
Applicants are advised to submit only one application for a particular post. Submission
of multiple applications by the candidates for the same post would be rejected
summarily. However, candidates willing to apply for more than one post may submit
separate applications in different envelopes.
2.
The crucial date for calculation of age limits, Essential Qualifications/ Experience and for
other terms and conditions for finding eligibility is as on the closing date of receipt of
application mentioned in the advertisement.
3.
Relaxation in upper age limit admissible to eligible categories of applicants will be in
the following way:SC/ST/OBC:- The age is relaxable for SC/ST candidates upto 5 years and upto 3
years for OBC candidates in respect of vacancies reserved for them.
NOTE:-1. Other Backward Class (OBC) for the purpose of Age relaxation and
reservation will mean “persons of OBC category not belonging to the creamy layer”.
NOTE:-2. Candidates claiming the benefit of reservation under OBC category not
covered under the Creamy Layer must ensure that they furnish the OBC Certificate
duly singed by the Competent Authority before or by the closing date in the prescribed
format for OBC Certificate. The closing date for receipt of application will be treated as
the date of OBC status of the candidate and also, for assuring that the candidate does
not fall in the creamy layer. Any deviation of the OBC Certificate from the prescribed
format will not be accepted.
PH:- Relaxable by 10 years (by 13 years for OBC and by 15 years for SC/ST)
EXS:- An EXServiceman shall be allowed to deduct the period of actual military service
from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit
prescribed for the post which he is seeking appointment by more than three years, he
shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit.
Departmental Candidates/Central Government Civilian Employees:- Upto 40 years
(45 years for SC/STs) for Central Government Civilian Employees/ Departmental
candidates who have rendered not less than 3 years continuous service on regular
basis in the grade in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central
Government.
Other Categories:- It will be as per Government of India’s Order issued from time to
time.
4.
Physically Handicapped (PH) Persons or Persons with disabilities, as indicated against
various posts in the advertisement can apply for the respective posts even if the post is
not reserved for them but has been identified as suitable. However, such candidates
will be considered for selection to such post by general standard of merit. Persons
suffering from not less than 40% of relevant disability shall alone be eligible for the
benefit of reservation and other relaxations as permissible under the rules. Thus,
Physically Handicapped (PH) persons can avail benefit of:
i) Reservation and other Concessions & Relaxations as permissible under the rules
only when degree of physical disability is 40% or more and the posts are reserved for
PH candidates.
ii) Other Concessions & Relaxations as permissible under the rules only when degree
of physical disability is 40% or more and the posts are suitable for PH candidates.
5.
If the Applicant has changed his/her name or dropped/ added part of his/her name
after Matriculation/ SSC/ Hr. Secondary/ Senior Secondary, he/she is required to
submit a self certified copy of Gazette Notification to the effect that he/she has
-2changed his/her name after matriculation etc. The changed name should also have
been indicated in the Gazette Notification.
6.
An application will be summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process for
not conforming to the official format/ having incomplete information/ wrong
information/mis-representation of facts/ left unsinged/ without good quality photograph
pasted at the appropriate place/ not accompanied by attested copies of certificates
showing category (SC/ST/EXS/OBC/PH/CGCE), age, educational qualification,
experience, age relaxation or for submitting more than one application.
7.
Certificates in support of educational qualifications and of Age-proof should be from a
recognized University/ Institution/ Board.
8.
If the Applicant does not submit, along with the Application Form, all Documents in
support of information given in the Application Form, the candidature of the applicant
shall be rejected summarily or at any stage of the recruitment process.
9.
Persons serving in government departments or in Autonomous organisations or Public
Sector Undertakings are required to apply through proper channel or submit ‘No
Objection Certificate’ from their employer at the time of test/interview.
10.
The candidates applying for any Post should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility
conditions prescribed in the advertisement. Their admission at all the stages of
examination will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed
eligibility condition. If, on verification, at any time before or after the Test/ Interview it is
found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions their candidature will be
cancelled. Indian Bureau of Mines reserves the right to call for the Original documents
pertaining to Age, Educational Qualification and Category Status viz.
SC/ST/OBC/EXS/PH etc., at any time. Failure on the part of the candidates to furnish
the original documents within the stipulated time period fixed by Indian Bureau of
Mines could entail cancellation of their candidature
11.
Candidates who wish to be considered against reserved vacancies or seek agerelaxation must submit requisite Certificate from the Competent Authority, along with
their application, otherwise, their claim for SC/ST/OBC/PH/EXS/CGCE status will not
be entertained and their candidature/applications will be considered under General
(UR) category. No subsequent request will be accepted, in any circumstances,
regarding rectification of their categories.
12.
The summoning of candidates for interview conveys no assurance whatsoever that
they will be selected.
13.
In case of selection of the candidate for any of the posts he/she may be posted in any
offices of Indian Bureau of Mines situated at Nagpur, Ajmer, Bangalore,
Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Dehradun, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Kolkata,
Ranchi, Udaipur, Nellore or any other place with All India Service Liability.
14.
Candidates whose address for correspondence mentioned in the application form is
subsequently changed may request Head of Office, Indian Bureau of Mines, Indira
Bhawan, Civil Lines, Nagpur-440001 for incorporating the change indicating their
name, date of birth, father’s/mother’s name, advertisement number, name of the post
applied for, serial number of the post and details of the new address. While every effort
will be made by Indian Bureau of Mines to make correspondence in the changed
address, no assurance in this regard can be given to ensure the change. As such,

candidates in their own interest are advised to make alternative arrangement for
redirecting the mail to their new address.
Experience gained before acquiring essential educational qualification will not be
considered.
16.
Candidates will be informed of the final result in due course through the website of
Indian Bureau of Mines i.e. www.ibm.gov.in and any interim enquiries about the result
are unnecessary and will not be attended to. Indian Bureau of Mines does not enter
into correspondence with the candidates about reasons for their non-selection for
test/interview or appointment.
17.
Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.
How to Apply:18.
Applicants fulfilling essential qualification and experience may apply in the
prescribed Application Form available in Indian Bureau of Mines website
www.ibm.gov.in in the A-4 size paper.
19.
In the Columns of the Application Form, write the required information in English
(CAPITAL LETTERS) or in Hindi.
20.
One envelope should contain one application of one candidate for one post only.
Infringement of this instruction would invite penal action by Indian Bureau of Mines
which also includes rejection of applications.
21.
The Envelope containing Application Form must be superscribed on top of the
application in bold letters as:APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF________________________________

22.
Applicants should write their Name, Father’s/Mother’s Name and Date of Birth (DoB) in
the Application Form as recorded in the Matriculation or Equivalent Certificate.
23.
A candidate should paste (and not staple or pin) his/her recent good quality passport
size photograph (4cmX5cm) on the Application Form and keep two spare copies of the
same photograph for the purpose of pasting, if required, on the Admission
Certificate/Admit Card/Call letter as and when received by the candidate from Indian
Bureau of Mines. Any variation in the photographs may lead to rejection of his/her
candidature. The photos must not have been taken more than two months before the
last date of submission of application.
24.
A Candidate should take every care to ensure that he/ she does not overwrite/ make
cuttings/ apply correction fluid/ paste any additional paper etc. while filling the
Application Form. If need for making corrections become unavoidable, such
corrections should be suitably authenticated by putting full signature by the candidate.
25.
Applicants shall make their SIGNATURE in FULL NOT IN SHORT on the Application
Form. The candidates must put their signatures in running script and not in bold letters.
If the candidates do not put their signatures at the relevant columns/ places in the
application forms or put short signature instead of full signature or put their signatures
in bold letters, such incomplete forms are liable to be summarily rejected without any
further correspondence in the matter with the erring candidates and candidature of
such candidates will be rejected forthwith. All the signatures should be of same type/
same language and there should be no variation in the signatures.

The candidates are required to make their signature on both the pages of the
application form at the space provided for the purpose..
Self-certified copies of the following documents must be attached with the application
in that order:-
(a)
Self-certified copy of Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent certificate indicating
date of birth as proof of age (Date of Birth).
(b)
Self-certified copy of Degree/Diploma certificates along with year wise Mark Sheets
pertaining to all the academic years in support of all educational qualifications.
Particulars printed on the back of the mark sheets/ certificates should also be photocopied invariably and got self- certified.
(c)
Self-certified copy of Caste certificate by candidates seeking reservation as
SC/ST/OBC in the prescribed Proforma from the competent authority indicating clearly
the candidate’s caste, the Act/ Order under which the caste is recognized as
SC/ST/OBC and the village/town the candidate is ordinarily a resident of. The
certificate must be in the prescribed Proforma for SC/ST (Appendix-I) or Proforma for
OBC (Appendix-II) as the case may be.
(d)
A declaration in the prescribed format (Appendix-III) by the candidate seeking
reservation as OBC, that he/she does not belong to the creamy layer on the crucial
date, in addition to the community certificate (OBC). The prescribed closing date for
receipt of Application for the post is to be treated as crucial date.
(e)
Self-certified copy of Physically Handicapped certificate in prescribed Proforma
(Appendix-IV) issued by the competent authority by Physically Handicapped persons
eligible for appointment to the post on the basis of prescribed standards of Medical
Fitness. The Competent Authority to issue Physically Handicapped Certificate shall be
a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or a State Government. The Central/
State Government may constitute Medical Board(s) consisting of at least three
members out of which at least one shall be a specialist in the particular field for
assessing Locomotor/ Cerebral/ Visual/ Hearing disability, as the case may be.
(f)
Central Government Civilian Employees/Departmental Candidates claiming the benefit
of age relaxation as Central Government Employee would be required to submit a
certificate in the enclosed format (Appendix-V) from their office indicating length of
service at the time of applying for the post to enable Indian Bureau of Mines to decide
their eligibility.
(g)
Self-certified copy of the certificate from the prescribed authority by EXServiceman.
(h)
Experience Certificate, if any, for the entire experience claimed clearly mentioning the
duration of employment (date, month and year) indicating the basic pay and
consolidated pay. The certificate(s) should also mention the nature of duties
performed,/experience obtained in the post(s) with duration(s) and issued by those
organizations/ Institutions/ firms etc. (as the case may be) where the experience has
been gained. The certificate should be in the letter head of the Organisation/ Institution/
Firm with full address and telephone number.
Note;- Appointment letters, office orders, resignation letters, pay certificates and selfappointment certificates shall not be considered as valid Experience Certificates and
such applications will be rejected as incomplete applications. Further the period of
-5experience rendered by a candidate on part time basis or daily wages will not be
counted while calculating the valid experience.
(i)
If a candidate has changed his/ her name or dropped/ added part of his/her name after
Matriculation/ SSC/ Higher Secondary, he/ she is required to submit a self-certified
copy of Gazette Notification to the effect that he/she has changed his/her name after
Matric etc. The changed name should also have been indicated in the Gazette
Notification.

Self-certified copy of Registration certificate with Employment Exchange (if any).
(k)
Self-certified copies of any other Document in support of information given in the
Application.
28.
Application form along with the above mentioned enclosures are required to be sent
by post only to ‘The Head of Office, Indian Bureau of Mines, 4th floor, Indira
Bhavan, Civil Lines, Nagpur-440001’ so as to reach him within 30 days from the date
of publication of this advertisement in Employment News.
29.
